Our Vision Statement
I. Introduction
Modern society is becoming increasingly disconnected from nature. As technologies such as television, video games, and the internet weave their threads into our consciousness and time, human existence is drawn indoors and away from sources of sustenance. Recent research has shown this nature deficient disorder is negatively affecting children's abilities to focus, fosters obesity, and is directly linked to higher rates of anxiety and depression. These real costs of nature alienation are shaping our children, families, and communities.
Harmony Collective believes that there is a happier, healthier alternative. People have known for millenia how to work together with each other and the natural world for the betterment of all. Emerging technology, information systems and enduring ingenuity have lead to new understandings of how things interact and work together. We hope to incorporate as much as we can recover of what humans have learned, together with modern science, information systems, and ongoing experimentation to establish a symbiotic way of life with a purpose of attaining human happiness in cooperation with the world around us.
We envision a community of people who are fully immersed in that which sustains them, where all the interactive systems are viewed holistically, and where people work together with each other and the land and creatures around them to maximize the health, happiness and well-being of all.
